The CIP team has personally vetted the following Marquette/UP in-home care agencies and confirmed that they meet our criteria for quality providers. (This is not an advertising list, and companies cannot pay to appear here!)

Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice

Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice (LSLC&H) is a nonprofit, community-based organization serving Marquette County since 1979. As Michigan’s oldest existing hospice, LSC&H provides personal and professional care 24 hours a day 7 days a week. LSLC&H strives to comfort patients and their families during time limiting situations.

Hospice is palliative care for patients near the end of their life. Hospice care can be provided in a patients’ home, hospice centers, hospitals, long-term care facilities, or wherever a patient resides. Palliative care focuses on improving a patient’s quality of life by managing pain and other distressing symptoms of a serious life-limiting illness. Palliative care should be provided along with other medical treatments.

Jensen Case Management

Jensen Case Management, LLC provides nursing case management, Aging Life Care Planning, and consulting services for care coordination in a variety of settings ranging from rehabilitation/return-to-work, pediatrics and aging elders. Clients include insurance-based payers, local health care plans, and private individuals or family members.

Located in beautiful Upper Michigan, Jensen Case Management, LLC utilizes a team of professionals with over 20 years of nursing and social work experience to customize care needs and optimize quality outcomes. Geographic coverage area includes the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and Northern Wisconsin. Other locations can be considered upon request.

Marquette Home Care

Marquette Home Care was established in 2013 by Erin Swadley. Recognizing a need in the area for high quality, professional care for seniors, Erin began on her own with a handful of clients. The response for her services combined with her personalized attention to her clients needs was overwhelming. The referrals kept coming in and before long she had hired her first employees.

Erin has expanded her business to include a dedicated team that are as passionate as herself to quality and service. Erin grew up in Marquette, MI and graduated in 2003 from Northern Michigan University. Erin spent many years in the Food and Beverage industry and has brought that high-level of customer service experience to her own business, Marquette Home Care. Erin has also worked in the Senior Housing industry for 9 years and brings a wide variety of knowledge and experience with the needs of Seniors and the resources available in our area.

Through decades of navigating in-home care in Marquette, Michigan, and other states in the country, one thing is clear: the in-home care industry is broken.

Too many Michigan in-home care agencies take advantage of caregivers by underpaying them, providing little to no training, and sending them to new homes with absolutely no preparation. This system hurts caregivers just as much as it hurts the people who need care.
